Mountains & Manifesting

Under my high school senior yearbook picture it says in quotes:

Never say you should’ve, always say you did.

Aside from the atrocious grammar, a good philosophy to live by. Why have regrets? Why take a brilliant invention to your grave? Why play it safe and let your heart’s desires languish?

Why?? Well…

I had an idea a few days ago. It’s a big one. It’s something I want to do, create, and offer to the world. It’s as potentially stupid as it is brilliant. It’s simple in concept, a bit complex in execution. Once it’s set up, the work for me is as easy as breathing… it’s what I do, and what I love. So here goes my mind:

You can’t make money doing something THAT easy!

Who do you think you are?

You don’t know enough about the technology to make that work.

You don’t have enough <money / time / followers on Twitter> to start it.

You won’t do it right.

You’re not as good as the other people doing stuff like that.

That’s dumb. Just give up.

That’s why.

If I listen to my fears, judgements and mind-made limitations I won’t do it. I will take it to the grave… after watching someone else do it, just for added self-torture.

So, I’m beginning. I’m taking steps. And I’m praying and listening all the way. One of my favorites is:

I think this is what you want me to do, God. If it’s not, please stop me.

When Saraswati Om and I decided to open a yoga center, it was amazing how everything was given to us and doors opened as we moved ahead. I think mountains would have moved for us – or did! Here you go, here is a perfect space in a prime location, and your landlord is lovely and spiritual. Here’s the money you need… here’s a business plan to follow… here are students and clients – even before the opening. We embarked on a few other ventures after that as well. The ones that were met with energetic stone walls – struggles and difficulties that persisted after a fair period of consistent effort – we let go.

Maybe the quote is more accurately what I believe today, and grammatically improved, as:

Never say you should have tried. Always say you did.

After that, it’s up to a power greater than myself what becomes of it. We’ll see if there are mountains in the way, and if they move for the manifestation. Either way is fine with me.

  1. This feels so timely for me, Lisa. I have been thinking of something I want to do – and I’m taking a few steps. We will see if mountains move. And at least I will have tried. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Can’t wait to see what we manifest!
